Community Guidelines

Trace is a social trip planner. These guidelines explain how we expect people to use profiles, trips, comments, and shared content. They apply to everyone using Trace on iOS, Android, and our website previews.

Be respectful

  • Treat other travelers, hosts, and communities with respect.
  • Do not harass, threaten, bully, or encourage harm against anyone.
  • Do not use hate speech, slurs, or content that attacks people based on protected characteristics.
  • Do not post sexual content involving minors or content that exploits or endangers children.

Share authentic travel content

  • Share itineraries, stops, photos, and comments that reflect real travel experiences or honest planning.
  • Do not spam, scrape, or post misleading routes, fake reviews, or repetitive promotional content.
  • Do not impersonate another person, brand, or organization.
  • Respect intellectual property — only upload photos and text you have the right to share.

Protect privacy & safety

  • Do not share someone else’s private information (addresses, phone numbers, booking confirmations, or live location) without their consent.
  • Use Trace privacy controls for profiles and trips. Public content may be visible on the web and in the app.
  • Do not use Trace to coordinate illegal activity or dangerous behavior.

Comments, follows, and collaboration

  • Keep comments relevant to the trip or profile they appear on.
  • Respect follow and collaboration requests — do not pressure people who decline.
  • You can block users and report content that violates these guidelines from the app.

Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, or ban repeat offenders. Decisions are made to keep Trace safe and useful for the community. Serious violations may be referred to law enforcement where required.

Report a problem

Use in-app report and block tools where available, or contact us via feedback or support. Include links or screenshots when helpful.

Trace is for users aged 18 and over. See our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for legal details.
